The Customer
Our customer is a global leader in information lifecycle management
solutions, based in the USA.
The Challenge
The company wanted to create a single-source, global, integrated
data warehouse that would address the needs of users across corporate
functions like customer management, product development, human resources,
services, contracts, finance, manufacturing, marketing and sales.
The Solution
The GAVS team built a Corporate Information Factory, ground-up,
starting with the ETL design. Since the project covered diverse
information areas, we structured resources into three teams with
the following responsibilities:
- Data Acquisition: Capture, integrate, transform, cleanse and
load source data into the data warehouse
- Data Administration: Manage databases and repositories
- Data Delivery: Build data marts from the data warehouses

- Setting up the development, test and production environments
for Informatica
- Developing customized ABAP programs to extract data from internal
tables
- Creating a prototype for implementing changing dimensions in
the ETL programs
